'“This program is unique. It offers a much needed path for boys.” BP Bloomington“We’re making a difference now.” CB, St. Paul"It’s one of the best community investments I’ve ever made” LS, St. PaulIs our contribution tax deductible?Yes, Boys to Men is a Minnesota 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. How is the money spent? Most of Minnesota Boys to Men’s staff are volunteers. Three part-time staff members receive small stipends. Most of the costs incurred are for activities, camps, insurance, and administration expenses like mentor background checks. How does this support the community?Currently, boys in the United States are not doing as well as are girls. They are falling behind academically and socially. They are the ones who commit offenses like school shootings. They end up filling our prisons. Effective mentorship has been shown to have huge effects in turning around academic performance, reducing recidivism, and helping boys to become effective members of society. Boys need Rites of Passage, they have been conducted in virtually every indigenous society on earth. This is because boys come into an energy in adolescence that must be positively channeled into society. Boys will often initiate themselves and each other into gangs and other forms of destructive behaviors. They do this because boys need clear guidelines for how to succeed. They hunger to know their place in the circle, and to be given opportunities for recognition and success. Boys to Men can gives boys all of this and more; A circle of powerful and caring men who have a mission of service to community. Can this help our company?Absolutely. Your contribution to help boys to rise above their challenges and achieve successful lives will be recognized. We’re proud to share our sponsors successes in our communications. Such commitment to vision can make a huge difference in your team’s vitality too. Your employees can know that your companies success also translates into social good; lives that are changed for the good. Can I direct where my contribution is spent? Yes. You can specifically direct any donation that you make to the Boys to Men so that you support any program component that you are committed to. How can I sponsor a kid to go through? It’s easy.
